Base camp and race HQ is operated from Tangent Expedition’s base at Constable Point. All competitors will be camping here prior to and after the race, on 11th, 12th, 16th and 17th April.
Competitors will be camping in teams at Constable Point and Tangent Expeditions will fence off an area where all tents can be grouped, with a bear-detection system enabled. Tangent Expeditions are providing bear deterrents (flares, rifle, ammunition) to all teams and teams must ensure they have immediate access to these items whilst at base camp (as well as when racing and at race camps).
We will also provide access to clean water for cooking on camp stoves and access to indoor toilets. Showers are available at the airport accommodation, but please note a fee is payable.
All competitors will must provide their own food whilst at base camp and during the race itself. At base camp there is a staff canteen within Constable Point airport and if you require, we can pre-book you breakfast, lunch and evening dinner. Full board accommodation can also be booked for the last night of Monday 17th April at a cost of £130 per person (in shared rooms). You must contact us by 12th March 2017 if you wish to book any meals or accommodation at Constable Point.
